A Victorian silver hip flask, the oval body with engraved monogram and detachable cup. Hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd, Sheffield 1873. Height measuring 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm), weight 4.9 ozt (154 grams).

The lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Gilding to the cup looks to have almost completely worn to the exterior and somewhat worn and discoloured to the interior. Screw thread in good working order. Minor dints and bumps. Hallmarks are clear and legible.
