Lot Description
A nineteenth century Dutch silver pepper modelled as a long tailed bird with realistic feather decoration and removable head. Hallmarked to tip of the tail with the lion passant for .833 standard, the Minerva head and date letter for 1858, the lid struck with a single sword mark. Length measures 14 cm, weight 94 grams.

Condition Report
The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Remnants of old polish. Crack and break in the silver across one of the heels. Wear ad rubbing to some of the decoration. This is a blind pepper, therefore no pierced or drilled holes to the cover.
