Lot Description
A George V silver trinket box, of plain hexagonal form with hinged cover opening to reveal a lined interior, the whole raised upon three stylised foliate feet, hallmarked Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd, Birmingham 1918, diameter measures 3 inches (7.5 cm). Together with a glass vanity jar having silver mounted tortoiseshell cover inlaid with ribbons and garlands above a vacant oval cartouche, C B, London 1913, height 3 inches (7.5 cm), a pair of late Victorian pierced silver bonbon dishes, Adie & Lovekin Ltd., London 1898, diameter 4 inches (10 cm), plus a pair of plated trinket dishes having thistle decoration. Condition Report
Overall items appear in fair condition displaying signs of use. Trinket box with multiple knocks and dints, scratches and wear to to interior lining. Vanity jar with small crack to and scratching tortoiseshell, and with slight distortion to pierced rim. Bonbon dishes with slight distortion. Applied thistle decoration to both plated dished detached and one is missing. Hallmarks throughout with wear but still legible.
