A late Victorian silver sovereign holder, of plain circular form, the press release opening to an engine-turned sprung panel to hold a full sovereign. Hallmarks assumed to be Fattorini & Sons Ltd, Birmingham 1899. Case diameter measuring 3 cm, gross weight 16.8 grams.

The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Hinge and clasp in good working order. Small solder repair around the press release. No personal engraving. Full hallmarks are not present, likely to be hidden behind the sprung panel.
