Lot Description

A George III silver cigar case of oblong form, having engine-turned decoration throughout and monogrammed oval panel to the hinged lid, with push button release mechanism. Hallmarked Thomas Phipps, Edward Robinson & James Phipps, London 1813. Length measuring 4 1/2 inches (11.4 cm), gross weight 3.92 ozt (122 grams).

The cigar case appears in good overall condition, displaying some general wear, surface marks and scratches and also some light tarnishing. A couple of minor dints and some slightly heavier wear around edges. The hinge and clasp mechanism appears in working order. The hallmarks are clear and legible, also part hallmarks to interior of lid.
