A nineteenth century cased French scent bottle, the facetted teardrop clear glass body with gold mounts, scalloped and panelled with diaper piercing, rising to the bulbous collar engraved with similar decoration and the conforming hinged cover opening to an oval mounted stopper. French assay marks comprising the eagle guarantee mark and the maker's mark EM. Tests as 18ct gold. Height measuring 12 cm.

Condition Report
In good overall order. The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. There does appear to be a number of chips to the glass cover under the gold overlay. Dent to bottom rim. Case hinge and clasp in working order, ribbon to interior hinge missing.
