Lot Description
A mid-Victorian silver card case having initialled shield cartouche within an engine-turned lozenge panel and further foliate scrollwork decoration, hallmarked Robert Thornton, Birmingham 1867, length measures 4 inches (10 cm). Together with a late Victorian silver card case of plain hinged form opening to reveal a concertina lined interior, Colen Hewer Cheshire, Birmingham 1892, length measures 3 6/8 inches (9.5 cm). Gross weight 5.1 ozt (158.5 grams). (2).

Condition Report
Engraved example with damage and knocks to upper corner causing vertical split near hinge and so cover does not sit flush to case, otherwise with minor surface scratching and minor compression to form. Concertina example with multiple small knocks and dints to exterior with surface scratches, slight distortion and so does not close tightly and with few tears to interior lining. Hallmarks throughout with light rubbing but still legible.
