A mid 19th century gold gem-set heart locket clasp. The diamond and gem-set 'regard' acrostic pansy, to the scrolling foliate embossed and wirework heart, with snake hinged clasp surmount and glazed reverse. Length 3.5cms. Weight 8.7gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Small area of slightly deeper scratches.
<li>Diamond appears bright with relatively few, small, scattered dark inclusions.
<li>Estimated diamond weight less than 0.10ct.
<li>Individual size and setting of diamond prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Possible replacement gems, some appear set at slight angles within the settings, some wear to some settings.
<li>Gems assumed foil back.
<li>Hinge to snake clasp slightly bent outwards, may require attention.
