Lot Description

A diamond and gem-set butterfly pendant. The oval opal cabochon and tiger's eye body, with circular-shape red-gem eyes and antennae, to the vari-cut diamond and circular-shape emerald and ruby wings. Estimated total diamond weight 1.80cts. Length 4cms. Weight 7.9gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Soft solder to reverse, from repair or alterations.

<li>Indentations visible to the reverse in places.

<li>The diamonds vary in cut, some are old-cut and others more circular-cut, there are also a few brilliant-cut and single-cut diamonds.

<li>Chips and inclusions visible to some with the unaided eye.

<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Rubies pinkish red with a moderate saturation of colour, typical inclusions, chips and areas of abrasion visible to some.

<li>Emeralds fairly well matched, chips and surface reaching inclusions visible to a couple.

<li>The opal has a vibrant play of colour, displaying pinks, oranges, greens and blues.

<li>Abrasion to the opal visible and some small chips to the surround.
