Lot Description

A mid 19th century gold foil-back gem-set brooch. The oval foil-back pink topaz cannetille dome, within a foil-back vari-shape gem floral and foliate interwoven border. Length 3.2cms. Weight 7.8gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li> Some areas dented and bent. <p>

<li> Replacement base metal pin. <p>

<li> Foil-back pink topaz shoes a patchy light to medium pink, with colourless areas where the foil-back has degraded. <p>
<li> Other foil-back stones vary in hue tone and saturation. <p>
<li>Stones in good to fair condition with mostly minor abrasions, one stone shows significant abrasion and nibbles.<p>
