Lot Description

An early 20th century gold peridot and ruby pendant. The foil-back lozenge-shape peridot, within an oval-shape ruby cannetille and floral surround, suspended from a later surmount and belcher-link chain, with seed pearl and ruby spacers. Length of pendant 5.2cms. Length of chain 44cms. Weight 16.4gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

<li>Some dents and wear visible to the reverse of the pendant, the pendant was originally probably part of a larger piece.

<li>Some areas of damage to the reverse outer surround, only visible to the back.

<li>Peridot medium yellowish green, with a good saturation of colour and good clarity.

<li>Peridot in good condition with some areas of abrasion visible with magnification.

<li>Rubies well matched and in good condition.

<li>Blisters and blemishes visible to some of the seed pearls.

<li>The ruby beads vary in shape with visible significant abrasion.

<li>Clasp stamped 9K.
