A late Victorian 18ct gold, ruby and split pearl locket, circa 1870. Of oval outline, the split pearl with alternating cushion-shape ruby and split pearl surround and cannetille highlights. French assay marks. Length 4.6cms. Weight 12.8gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Possible replacement gems.
<li>General light abrasion and discolouration.
<li>Glazed interior to one side only.
<li>Split pearls well matched, pearly white hue.
<li>The rubies are a well matched medium deep purplish red hue, well saturated, with fair to good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>
