Lot Description

A late Victorian gold enamel and gem-set brooch, circa 1870. The ruby and split pearl fleur-de-lys, raised to ruby, white enamel and cannetille sides, with bead highlights and tassel fringe. Length 6.9cms. Weight 12.1gms.

<li>Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear and slight discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.



<li>Deficient surmount loop.

<li>Rubies are in closed back settings, presumed foil back. Rubies are a fairly well matched slightly purplish red hue, variation in saturation and inclusions.<p>

<li>Stones mostly in good condition with minor abrasions, one ruby with significant chip.<p>

<li>Split pearls fairly well matched.
