An early Georgian gold memorial portrait miniature pendant, circa 1730. Of oval outline, painted to depict a young woman, with scrolling surmount and white enamel scrolling ribbon reverse reading 'Oh! Just, Beheld!, And Lost, Admired!, And Mourn'd!'. Length 3.5cms. Weight 5.9gms.
The lines are from the 'Epistle to Robert, Earl of Oxford and Mortimer', circa 1724.

<li>Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Some soft solder repair/alterations.
<li>Remains of later brooch or stickpin fittings to the reverse.
<li>Wear to the bevelled glass mount.
<li>Enamel to reverse with significant abrasion and small losses.
<li>Portrait miniature in fair condition, general wear and fading, significant scrathes through the paint to the surround and clothing.
