A late Victorian gold garnet brooch, circa 1870. Designed as a series of three oval garnet cabochons within a scroll and foliate surround, suspending a similarly-designed replacement near period drop. Drop section unattached. Length 7.2cms. Weight 25.1gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition fair to poor. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Replacement near period drop is dented and damaged in places, with sections of the detail broken off. The outer embossed detail is sharp.
<li>Previous soft solder repair visible to drop connection and join.
<li>Areas of filing and wear to the brooch surmount and some visible dents.
<li>Possible replacement garnets, they vary in colour some more browny red and others more purplish red, typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye.
<li>Surface reaching inclusion/chip to one.
<li>Some scratches to the reverse panel.
