A good mid 19th century French ormolu mantel clock, having Roman numerals and serpent hands to the integral spherical dial enclosing the two-train movement, outside countwheel-striking on a bell, stamped J SIMMONS PARIS 806, the case surmounted by a figure of Cupid holding a wreath and above a further cherub holding a painted porcelain portrait miniature to the base, the whole raised upon twin palmette and scroll supports, 14" (35.5cm) high overall.
