An early 20th century black-lacquered chinoiserie chiming grandmother clock

The 9.5-inch arched brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring framing engraved swags and a retailer's cartouche at VI, within foliate scroll spandrels and a silvered Chime/Silent ring over XII, Westminster/Whittington switch at IX, the twin weight-driven movement chiming and striking on eight gong rods via a pin-barrel and , the case with break-arched hood and conforming body with long trunk door and base lacquered in relief with figures in landscapes (s/d), the sides with birds and plants, on wavy apron, 67", (170cm) high.
