A good Chippendale Revival mahogany-cased chiming longcase clock of small proportions
The 7-inch break-arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring having Roman hours, Arabic minutes and cruciform half hour divisions framing a matted centre, within mask spandrels, the arch with silvered 'Tempus Fugit' boss, the three-train movement chiming on eight gong rods via a pin-barrel, the fine quality case having a break-arched pediment with urn finials and blind fretwork over fluted columns, arched throat mouldings and a further fret frieze above a moulded double-arched figured long trunk door between quadrant columns with further blind fretwork beneath, raised upon ogee bracket feet, 60", (152.5cm) high.
