A North Italian marble topped bombe commode chest circa 1900, having a serpentine fronted rouge marble top, over three cross banded and figured drawers to the bulging body with cast escutcheons, raised on a pierced and scroll carved gilt wood apron, and four splayed scroll supports, 28" x 20.5" x 30.5" (71cm x 52cm x 77.5cm).

Minor paint flaking to gilding including apron and legs, small loss where lock has struck wooden carcass when draw closes (lock leavers are sprung in up position when drawers are open), horizontal cracking to side panel veneer.
