A mid Victorian gold, garnet and diamond brooch, circa 1860. The vari-shape purple garnet and rose-cut diamond floral cluster, within textured foliate and cannetille stylised knot surrounds, suspending a similarly-designed drop and snake-link swags. Damage to surmount. Length 6.4cms. Weight 9.4gms. With case.

<li>Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Cracks and repairs to the surmount
<li>One section of leaf has lifted, soft solder and discolouration visible.
<li>More noticeable dents to the knot motif.
<li>Drop fittings presumed replacements, discolouration, possible soft solder.
<li>Drop with small loop for possible further drops, deficient.
<li>Diamonds are replacement gems
<li>Diamonds fairly well matched.
<li>Cut, size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate weight, colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Diamonds appear a steely grey hue, varied inclusions.
<li>Garnets are in closed back settings, presumed foil back. Garnets appear a medium deep purplish red hue, varied inclusions, some surface reaching.<p>
<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>
