MELLERIO DITS MELLER - a late 19th century French silver and gold pen, circa 1895. The gold cylindrical grip with tapered post and cross surmount, supporting a robed angel holding gold keys and serpentine sword slaying a snake coiled to the base of the post, with diamond point shooting star highlight and engraved shield. Signed Mellerio R. Paix 9, with maker's mark. Length 20.9cms. Total weight 32gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Few surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Gold shaft very slightly loose to the silver top.
<li>Pen shaft with few small dents.
<li>Dent to the reverse of the silver ring just above the dated shield.
<li>Shield engraved '19 Juillet 1894'.
<li>Nib cracked, poor condition.
<li>Diamond fairly bright.<p>
<li>Diamond estimated weight less than 0.02ct.
<li>Size of diamond prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
