Lot Description

A continental bottle stand, the base of oval form with raised shell terminals, leading to a central ball and beaded loop handle flanked by two circular cut-out mounts each with three decorative feather motifs, the whole raised on four ball feet. Marked to the base with an eagle and further dispatch marks. Maximum height including handle measures 10 5/8 inches (27cm), weight 12.8 ozt (401.8 grams).

In fair condition. The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor splits to the edge of the support between the two bottle mounts, heavier tarnishing and rubbing to base, around joins and the shell terminals. Small dent to the ball handle and edge of base causing slight distortion to the shape. Stand ever so slightly wobbles. Marked to the underneath of the base with an eagle and further dispatch marks visible.
