Lot Description
A George III silver soup ladle, in Old English pattern with monogram to terminal below an engraved family crest depicting a squirrel. Hallmarked London 1806, maker's mark 'TH' and tentatively attributed to Thomas Hayter. Length measuring 12 1/2 inches (31.7 cm), weight 5.6 ozt (174.3 grams).

Condition Report
The ladle displays general wear, tarnishing, surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Heavier wear to the bowl with some minor dints/bumps. Also surface nicks and pin prick marks and a couple of rim splits around the join of the handle. Surface rubbing to crest and monogram with slight loss of detail. The hallmarks are clear and legible, also some rubbing to maker's mark but still legible.
