Lot 360

Lot Description

An Edwardian silver mounted and glass hip flask, the faceted clear glass body having a removable silver cup with engraved monogram and further monogrammed to the scroll embossed bulbous hinged lid. Hallmarked Drew & Sons, London 1902/3. Maximum height measures 5 1/2 inches (14 cm).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The flask appears in reasonable overall condition, displaying some general wear, surface scratches and marks in keeping with the age and general use. Also some tarnishing to the silver. A few minor nicks and dints. Residues of polish. The bayonet locking mechanism is not working because the small piece on the rim has broken off. Therefore the lid does not stay closed securely. The hallmarks and maker's marks appear a little rubbed but are still legible.
