Lot Description

A late Victorian silver scent bottle, the teardrop shape body ornately embossed throughout with floral and foliate scrolls surrounding an initialled cartouche, and the bulbous hinged lid similarly decorated. Hallmarked Horton & Allday, Birmingham 1893. Height measuring 5 inches (12.7 cm).

Postage: Auction Default

Total lot weight: No

The bottle displays general wear and tarnishing. Some rubbing, surface wear and slight loss of detail to the embossed decoration but it is generally still fairly good. General surface marks and scratches and a few minor dints. Hinged lid is very loose and would require tightening. Chips and cracks visible around the glass rim and neck. Missing stopper. The hallmarks are clear and legible, slight rubbing to maker's mark.
