Lot Description
An early Victorian silver snuff box, the rounded rectangular form with reeded sides, engine-turned decoration and foliate scroll thumb-piece, with Masonic presentation inscription to the hinged lid. Hallmarked William Simpson, Birmingham 1842. Measuring 5.4 cm by 3.5 cm, weight 37.4 grams.

Condition Report
The box appears in fair overall condition, displaying general wear, surface scratches, marks and tarnishing in keeping with the age and general use. A few small surface dints. Heavier wear around edges and corners and considerable loss of detail to the engine turned decoration. The interior displays some very deep scratches and marks and also heavier staining. Hinged lid appears in good working order. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
