Lot Description

A George III novelty silver caddy spoon modelled as a jockey's cap. Hallmarked John Turner, Birmingham 1798. Length measuring 5 cm, weight 8.6 grams.

The spoon displays general wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use, also some general surface marks, scratches and minor surface dints. Several  small solder repairs are visible around the join to the brim. A couple of minor rim splits starting to appear. Some rubbing and distortion to hallmarks but still legible.
