Lot Description

An Edwardian silver tazza, the shaped circular dish pierced throughout with quatrefoil motifs, embossed with flowers and scrolled cartouche and raised above a plain pedestal base. Hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1901. Maximum diameter measures 8 1/4 inches (20.5 cm), weight 9.11 ozt (283.4 grams).

The dish appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general wear, tarnishing, surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Some small splits around the outer edge. Some pitting marks to the plain centre and a slight impression from the foot. The hallmarks are clear and legible, slight rubbing to maker's mark. Lion passant visible to underside of foot and impressed numbers X320 H1430 to the foot rim.
