Lot Description

An Art Nouveau silver vase, with pierced scrolling geometric border, on a stepped base with missing glass liner, hallmarked Horton & Allday, Birmingham 1903, maximum height measures 9.8 cm (3 3/4 inches). Together with a small silver cup of plain form with engraved monogram and ebonised scroll handle, hallmarked T H Hazlewood & Co, Birmingham 1908, maximum width inclusive of handle 9.5cm (3 3/4 inches). Gross weight 3.43 ozt (106.84 grams). (2).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. The vase has a missing glass liner, some of the pierced decoration is bent inwards, with indentations and bumps around the entire edge of the base, makers mark rubbed but hallmarks still legible.

The cup is in good overall condition, noticeable dent to exterior near the base with remnants of sticker underneath, heavier tarnishing inside the bowl. Hallmarks clear and legible.
