An oval painted portrait miniature, depicting a head and shoulder portrait of 'Lieutenant General William Popham', signed 'V. W.' to lower right, in rectangular painted wooden frame under glass, having suspension ring fixed by brass mount modelled as an acorn and oak leaves, hand written paper label verso reads 'Lieut - General William Popham apres (?) Sir Martin Shee PRA, by Viola G Woulfe (Miss), Studio 122 Southampton Row, Bloomsbury', 3" x 2.5" (7.5cm x 6.5cm).
Original full length portrait by Sir Martin Shee currently resides in the National Portrait Gallery, London.

Miniature appears to be in good overall condition. Frame has wear including scratches, dents, knocks, etc. Brass is tarnished. Glass is scratched.
Paper label and reverse is worn, discoloured, creased, etc.
Please note miniatures have not been examined out of frames and glass.
