Lot Description

A spinel, diamond and ruby floral spray brooch. The rectangular cushion-shape foil-back spinel and old-cut diamond flower, with ruby and diamond flower and bud highlights, diamond foliate detail. Some diamond accents deficient. Total diamond weight 2.25cts. Length 4.4cms. Weight 8.7gms.

<li> Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. <p>

<li> Foil-back spinel bright very slightly purplish-red, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions, some of which can be seen with the naked eye. <p>

<li> Ruby fairly dark purplish-red, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions, some of which can be seen easily under magnification.<p>

<li> Diamonds vary noticably in shape and size. <p>

<li> Diamonds mostly fairly well matched for colour and clarity. <p>

<li> Diamonds bright.<p>

<li> Slight yellow tint can be seen to some diamonds. <p>

<li> Small light and dark coloured inclusions can be seen to most diamond under magnification. <p>

<li> Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li> Diamond in mostly good to fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges, some diamonds have slight heavier chips to the girdle edge, some diamonds have much larger chips one has a portion deficient to one end of the diamond.<p>

<li>Spinel in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges, one of the corner edges is chipped affecting the outline shape of the stone.<p>

<li>Rubies in fair to slightly poor condition with some significant abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.<p>
