Lot Description

An early 20th century sapphire and diamond bracelet. Designed as a series of old, single and rose-cut diamond oval links, with rose-cut diamond line spacers, to the sugarloaf sapphire cabochon and rose-cut diamond clasp. One diamond deficient. Approximate sapphire dimensions: 10.4 by 7.7 by 6.6mms. Estimated total old and single-cut diamond weight 4.50 to 5cts. Length 18.2cms. Weight 17.6gms.

<li>Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. <p>

<li>Sapphire measures 10.4 by 7.7 by 6.6mms.<p>

<li>Sapphire fairly dark to medium blue, well to fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions. Angular colour zoning can be seen with the naked-eye. <p>

<li>Sapphire has a long hairline crack that extends almost the entire circumference, providing a likely future durability issue. <p>

<li>Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation. <p>

<li>Diamonds vary in shape, size and appearance. <p>

<li>Some old and single-cut diamonds are bright some are fairly bright. <p>

<li>A few old and single-cut diamonds have a fairly obvious yellow-tint. <p>

<li>Old and single-cut diamonds have light and dark inclusions which can be seen easily under magnification. <p>

<li>Some rose-cut diamonds are fairly bright to dull. <p>

<li>Some rose-cut diamonds have significant chips and are irregular in shape. <p>

<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Diamonds in mostly good, some fair and a couple or rose-cuts in poor condition with abrasions, nibbles and chips to some.<p>
