A late Victorian gold opal and diamond floral cluster necklace, circa 1880. The circular opal cabochon, within a series of old-cut diamond, oval opal cabochon and rose-cut diamond surrounds, suspended from similarly-set floral spacers and trace-link back-chain. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.50cts. Length 41cms. Weight 21.3gms.

<li>One opal is cracked. The durability of this opal is impaired.
<li>The opals are well matched with good play-of-colour throughout displaying blue, violet, green, orange and red colours.
<li>The piece appears to have been later adapted from a larger suite of jewellery.

<li>Diamonds fairly bright.<p>
