Lot Description
A late Victorian gold, ruby and split pearl locket, with collar. The circular-shape ruby and split pearl crossed laurel motif locket, with engraved reverse, suspended from a tapered surmount, clasp and fancy-link chain. Length of locket 5cms. Length of chain 46.5cms. Weight 52.7gms.

<li>Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li> Chain with possibly later barrel clasp. <p>
<li> Chain with areas of discolouration. <p>
<li> Some chain links with evidence of repair. <p>
<li>Rubies medium slight pinkish red, fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.<p>
<li> Inscription to reverse of pendant reads: 'To / E.C / from / S.T / 25. Aug 1891.'
