Lot Description

A 1940's silver mounted table cigarette box, having presentation engraving to the rectangular form and with further engraved initials to the engine-turned cover having chamfered corners, opening to reveal a compartmented lined interior. Hallmarked Alexander Clark & Co Ltd., Birmingham 1946. Length measures 7 1/8 inches (18 cm).

'Presented to Wilfred W. Shorter Founder of The Wyndham Diamatic Club, on the occasion of its Jubilee, 23rd April 1947'.

The box appears in overall fair condition although with large dent to cover and other small dints and scratches throughout. Hinge in working order although cover does not close tight, and engravings clear. Hallmarks legible and with part hallmarks to hinged cover.
