Lot Description
A late Victorian/Edwardian matched silver mounted hairbrush and hand mirror set having engraved monograms, Charles Fox & Co. Ltd., (Charles James Fox), London 1897 and Henry Stratford Ltd., London 1905, length of hand mirror measures 10 4/8 inches (26.75 cm). Together with a mid-twentieth century silver condiment set, of plain form with chamfered edges, blue glass liners and single mustard spoon, hallmarked J B Chatterley & Sons Ltd., Birmingham 1947/50, plus another silver plated condiment set and pair of candlesnuffers. Condition Report
The lot is in overall fair condition. The hair brush and mirror with multiple minor dents, splits, bumps and scratches, heavier to the brush corners. Some loss of definition to the monogram on the mirror, which has missing pins to the mount and the maker's mark is over struck. Condiment sets each with areas of light tarnishing and wear commensurate with use. Plated condiments marked to the base 'Garrard & Co Ltd 112 Regent St W Regent Plate' with blue plastic liners. Candlesnuffers with engraved initials to the base and engraved bird within an oval cartouche. Feet and tip of the candlesnuffers are slightly bent.
