A selection of four pairs of George III silver sugar tongs by Hester Bateman, of varied styles to include bright-cut decoration and three personally engraved. Hallmarked Hester Bateman alongside partial hallmarks. Gross weight 3.98 ozt (123 grams).

Slightly varied state, all displaying general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor dints and bumps to bowls. Partial hallmarks only present. Wear with loss of definition to the decoration, particularly to one example. Two repaired and reinforced to the bends.
