Lot Description
A mid-Victorian silver Bosun whistle, having foliate engraving to the keel and crowned anchors to either end of the barrel. Hallmarked Aston & Son, Birmingham 1856. Length measures 4 4/8 inches (11.5 cm), weight 11.83 grams.

Condition Report
The whistle is in fair to poor condition with multiple small knocks and dents and with tarnishing throughout. Minor rubbing to the engraved decoration and marks to the cartouche, possibly removing a previous engraving. Hallmarks are rubbed and worn but still legible.
