Lot 490

Lot Description

A 1920's silver match case, the rectangular form with canted edges surrounding engine-turned panels and a vacant name panel, hallmarked Birmingham 1929 with maker's mark 'L.Bs'. Together with a silver compact of shaped oval outline, hallmarked R Davies & Co., Birmingham 1945, length measuring 4 inches (10 cm), and a further square shape compact marked 'sterling', measuring 2 3/4 inches (7 cm) square. Gross weight 6.35 ozt (197.5 grams). (3).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All three items display some general tarnishing and wear commensurate with age and use. All would benefit from a clean and polish. General surface marks and scratches. Heavier marks to the shaped oval compact. All hinges appear in good working order, however the clasp on the match case does not appear to be functioning properly. Hallmarks are mostly clear and legible, maker's mark on the oval case is quite rubbed.
