Lot Description
A late George III silver patch box, the plain circular form engraved with a family crest above initials and the removable lid similarly marked. Hallmarked London 1819, maker's mark ID and probably John Douglas. Base diameter measures 4.6 cm by height 3.8 cm, weight 63.6 grams.

Condition Report
The box displays general wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The interior of the box and reverse of the lid with heavier tarnish/dirt and would benefit from a clean and polish. General surface marks and scratches and a few minor dints. Engraved crests/initials are quite rubbed and worn, especially on the lid. Split to the rim of the lid. The interior appears patchy. The hallmarks are clear and legible, part hallmarks to lid.
