Lot Description

An Edwardian silver box, the circular form with detachable cover with applied panel with central Shamrock and blue basket weave enamel surround, opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co Ltd, Chester 1906. Diameter measuring 4.5 cm, gross weight 36 grams.

The box displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The enamel looks to have had a repair at 1 o'clock, also a small chip/loss between 7 and 8 o'clock. Minor dints and bumps. Date letter to the hallmarks is quite rubbed, no visible part hallmarks to the cover.
