Lot Description

A Victorian silver table snuff box, the oblong form with engine-turned decoration, scroll rim, the hinged cover with name engraved cartouche and opening to a silver-gilt interior with further presentation inscription. Hallmarked Neill & Cook, Birmingham, 1859. Length measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm), weight 5.7 ozt (178 grams).

'Presented to A. C. Reed. Esq. Clerk to the Late Woolwich Local Board of Health, by the Officials as a Mark of Regard and Respect for the Invariable Kindness and Courtesy Received by them at his Hands. 16th March 1901'
