Lot Description
A George III silver vinaigrette, the oblong form having engraving to the lid depicting a vacant shield above a quiver of arrows to either side, floral sprig to the underside and all within stippled and punched borders, opening to reveal a silver-gilt grille pierced with flowers and foliage. Hallmarked Thropp & Taylor, Birmingham 1811. Length measures 3.5 cm.

Condition Report
The vinaigrette appears in fair overall condition, displaying some general wear and tarnishing. General surface marks and scratches and a couple of minor dints. Engraved decoration appears in fairly good overall condition with rubbing to some areas. Visible solder repair around hinge on one end, however hinges are in working order. Hallmarked to interior and these are clearly legible. The grille appears unmarked.
