A Victorian silver vinaigrette, the oblong form with scalloped outline, with engine-turned decoration surrounding an initialled cartouche to the underside, the hinged cover with an engraved lakeside scene with cottage and rowboat and opening to a silver-gilt interior with foliate pierced grille. Hallmarked Yapp & Woodward (John Yapp & John Woodward), Birmingham 1848. Length measuring 3.7 cm, weight 18.4 grams.
