Lot Description
A George IV silver three piece tea service, the squat lobed bodies, crested and standing on a circular foot, rising to the foliate capped handles and gadrooned rims, hallmarked Charles Thomas Fox, London 1825. Together with an associated Edwardian silver coffee pot of Georgian style, hallmarked Charles Stuart Harris, London 1901, all contained in fitted wooden case. Gross weight 63.2 ozt (1966 grams).
Believed to be formerly the property of the Messell family of Nymans House.

Condition Report
The lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The teapot displays some further obvious wear and tear with splits and losses around the finial and cover, crude repairs to the insulators on the handle, splits around the pins and numerous dents in and around the body. Pins a little dislodged to the handle of the coffee pot. Hallmarks worn, illegible to parts. interior of the case heavily worn.
