Lot Description
A late Victorian silver vesta case of oblong form with floral engraving surrounding an initialled cartouche, the reverse with stylised border and flower motifs, hallmarked Birmingham 1884, maker's mark for G & W, length measures 4.5 cm. Together with two George V silver vesta cases, one of plain form with engraved B, the other with leaf motifs surrounding a vacant cartouche, hallmarked Birmingham 1911 and 1915 and a silver matchbox holder, hallmarked Birmingham 1930. Gross weight 3.3 ozt (104.8 grams). (4).

Condition Report
In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Three items have engraved initials, one with vacant cartouche. Striker on Victorian example worn. Heavier tarnishing and marks to the matchbox holder which shuts but not firmly and slit overlap of the silver edges, some loss of definition to the decorations and minor dents and bumps across all items. Hallmarks clear and legible.
