A late Victorian silver and gold, diamond and gem-set scarab brooch. The replacement red paste body, with rose-cut diamond legs, head and circular ruby eye. Length 3.6cms. Weight 8.9gms.

<li> Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. <p>
<li> Red paste dark brownish-red, well saturated, with good to fair clarity and typical inclusions. <p>
<li> Rubies bright medium red, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions. <p>
<li> Diamonds well matched. <p>
<li> Diamonds bright. <p>
<li> Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation. <p>
<li> Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. <p>
<li> Stones in mostly good condition with minor abrasions, some rose-cut diamonds have fairly obvious chips visible under magnification. <p>
