A late Victorian diamond tiara, circa 1880. Comprising a graduated series of five vari-cut diamond scrolling foliate fleur-de-lys, with similarly graduated old and single-cut diamond bud spacers, mounted on a gilt metal frame. Convertible to a necklace with detachable back-chain. Principal old-cut diamonds estimated total weight 9 to 10cts, I-tinted colour, VS2-P1 clarity. Estimated total old and single-cut diamond weight 13 to 15cts. With fitted Hancocks & Co. case.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Principal panel is slightly misaligned.
<li>Length as a necklace 47cms.
<li>Weight as a necklace 68gms.
<li>Length of tiara 24cms.
<li>Minor soft solder repair visible to tiara frame. This repair is to the central fixture.
<li>Diamonds fairly well matched. The four central principal diamonds have a noticeable yellow tint, together with several of the principal diamonds to each side. The diamonds vary in clarity as well as colour. Dark scattered inclusions and fine fractures are present to some.
<li>Diamonds appear very bright and lively.<p>
<li>Principal old-cut diamond estimated weights range from 0.50 to 0.85ct.<p>
<li>Estimated total old-cut diamond weight of back-chain 1.15cts. There are approximately 57 old-cut diamonds. The rose-cut diamonds to the back-chain spread just under 0.01ct each.<p>
