Lot Description
A pair of mid Victorian gold garnet ear pendants. Each designed as a fancy-shape foil back garnet cabochon, atop a textured panel with scrolling foliate engraved serpent scalloped surround and spacer, detachable to the similarly designed surmount. Length 7.3cms. Weight 15gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition fair to good. Few surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Central tapered mid-section with small central hole suggesting a small garnet is deficient to both earrings.
<li>Long drop is detachable, length of surmount section 2cms (including hooks).
<li>One fitting slightly bent, the other repaired to one end with small plate section and soft solder visible.
<li>Jeweller-type scratch marks to the back of the surmounts.
<li>Garnets are foil-back and appear a medium red hue.
<li>Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.<p>
<li>Hinged hook fittings for pierced ears.
