Lot Description
A mid Victorian enamel and diamond necklace. Designed as an ouroboros, with blue enamel and vari-cut diamond head, ruby cabochon eyes and snake-link chain. Tail end of chain is detachable. Length 41cms. Weight 46.5gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>The end of the chain is detachable with push-piece clasp. Length 13cms. When un-attached the remaining clasp does not close securely.
<li>Areas of enamel have been restored. Small areas slightly scratched, with minor chips.
<li>Small areas of repair to chain.
<li> Diamonds bright.<p>
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.
<li>Principal rose-cut diamond approximate dimensions: 8mms by 7mms.
<li>Clasp stiff.
